August 16, 2015 by Admin

Dining in Playa Tamarindo Costa Rica, one of the top beach vacation destinations in Guanacaste is as fun and varied as the popular resort town itself. Whether you love casual, leisurely eateries or continental cuisine by candlelight, dining in Tamarindo has a culinary experience to remember, and more.

Fresh seafood is everywhere in Costa Rica, so don’t miss out! Dining in Playa Tamarindo Costa Rica at Gecco showcases variety of seafood and pasta dishes with a Mediterranean flair. The menu at Gecco, displayed on a large chalkboard changes on a regular basis. Some dishes that reappear often include seared wasabi tuna with red onions served over a fresh salad, freshly baked mussels, blackened snapper, and mahimahi in a spicy Dijon mustard glaze. Come early for the best selection. Popular menu items often sell out by mid-evening.

La Laguna del Cocodrilo Bistro specializes in cutting edge fusion cuisine and fine European dining. The portions are large, the presentation is breathtaking, and the cuisine is creative and surprising. Typical dishes include almond, basil, and balsamic crust goat cheese appetizers, fresh blackened mahimahi with a honey curry relish, and an assortment of rich unusual desserts that are must-order items. The bistro is small and intimate, with the best tables set up under the trees outside near the ocean.

Lazy Wave Food Company prepares daily chalkboard specials in a funky, relaxed atmosphere. All of the seating is outside, and a colorful awning attached to an old Almedro tree provides welcome shade during the day. A counter also runs along the open kitchen with room for five or six patrons to sit and watch the chefs. Seared tuna is a regular offering, along with a shrimp and sausage jambalaya, and a chile-garlic beef pepper pot.
