Planning your Costa Rica surf vacation

Costa Rica surf vacation

If you love to surf, then planning your Costa Rica surf vacation will be something exciting and thrilling. You may be wondering what sorts of things are available for planning your surfing vacation in Costa Rica based on what is locally available to you.

There is no need to worry while you are planning your Costa Rica surf vacation because there is plenty to choose from. There are surf camps for those who are looking to learn how to surf or for those that want to socialize or even learn something new. There are also surf packages, something to consider when planning your surf vacation if you do not want to try to lug your board on the plane with you.

If you are looking for some of the best places to surf, then consider taking a guided surfing tour when you are planning out your vacation. Other things like board rentals and even hotels that are friendly for surfers are available.

You may have to do some looking to find these if you are not willing to go with the more traditional vacation packaging which is available through many of the travel agencies that offer vacation packages to Costa Rica.

There are a number of companies which offer these various types of packages and various types of activities so it is a good idea when planning your vacation that you take a look at the options that are available to you prior to making a choice when it comes to your surf vacation. The reason behind this is that there are many price variances and you may have to look around to find something in a price you want to pay.

When planning your Costa Rica surf vacation you are probably going to want to consider the following two locations, Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. These are two of the best surfing spots in the country. The area includes perfect conditions through the year as well as a variety of activities for those persons who may be joining you but may not be surfers.

There is also a variety of lengths that the camps and tours, or packages can go. Another thing to consider as well is the time of year. While the temperatures keep the water at about 80 degrees year round, the rainy season and hurricane season may put a damper on your trip, or may encourage you to visit during that time depending on the type of surfing you enjoy.

Many of the beachfront hotels in surfing areas are going to be surf friendly, but some are not, so it is a good idea to check with the hotel prior to making reservations while you are planning your vacation.

After all, as with any vacation, you will want to spend your time doing what you want to do rather than having to deal with the stress of locating different accommodations or location car rentals that will accommodate your surfboard if you brought it along, or the rental board.
