Costa Rica Airports


Costa Rica is a modern country that is well connected with the world through the many Costa Rica airports. A number of people have considered Central America as a continent full of backward countries and illiterate people. Costa Rica has two major airports namely the Juan Santamaria International Airport and the Daniel Oduber Quirós International. The Juan Santa Maria Airport serves the cities of San José, Alajuela and Heredia, whereas the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport caters to Liberia in Guanacaste Province.

Though Daniel Oduber Quirós Airport may be smaller than its Santamaria counterpart, it serves most of the international flights like Delta, Continental and United. These Costa Rica airports connect to countries worldwide such as America, England and Denmark just to name a few.

Apart from these major airports, Costa Rica has many small domestic airports that are located in the main cities of Costa Rica. So if you happen to be in Limon, Barra del Colorado or Tortuguero, then you need not worry whether there is an airport close by because each of these cities has a domestic airport. In all actuality South Puntarenas has not just one, but five domestic airports! They are Carate, Coto 47, Drake Bay, Golfito, Palmar Sur, and Puerto Jiménez. These Costa Rica airports are spread far and wide in Costa Rica. The Tambor Domestic Airport and the Quepos Domestic Airport are located in North Puntarenas.

For those who want to travel and enjoy the exotic beaches of Costa Rica, then there is no need of worry! Costa Rica airports are not far. There are many Costa Rican airports in Guanacaste which are situated in Carrillo (Samara), Nosara, Punta Islita and Tamarindo. So, you don’t need to waste time in traveling by any other means when you can fly! San Jose city also boosts of a domestic airport called the Pavas Domestic Airport. Apart from that there is the La Fortuna Domestic Airport in Alajuela.
