in Manuel Antonio and Quepos

Costa_Rica_Hotels_in_manuel.jpg

Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos are home to some of the nicest Costa Rica hotels in the country. Manuel Antonio National Park is located just south of the village of Quepos on the Pacific coast and is popular for its white sandy beaches, evergreen forests, mangrove swamps, and amazing varity of tropical plants and animals. Tourism is the main industry in Quepos, which means the Costa Rica hotels in the Quepos-Manuel Antonio area are both popular and well-maintained.

Manuel Antonio hotels can be pricey, but luckily, one of the best and most interesting places to stay is priced at the budget end of the scale. The La Posada Casa and Private Jungle Bungalows is the only one of the Manuel Antonio hotels that immediately borders the Manuel Antonio National Park. The entrance to the park and the most fabulous beach in Costa Rica is only a two minute, three block walk away. A private bungalow for up to four people starts at only $125 a night and includes air conditioning, a refrigerator and microwave, an in-room safe, and a private porch with a hammock, two rocking chairs, and an outdoor table. Reviews of La Posada are overwhelmingly positive, with many travelers raving about the place and insisting it is the best place to stay anywhere in the area.

If it is luxury you are after, you won’t be disappointed by the Gaia Hotel & Reserve, the only one of the Manuel Antonio hotels to be rated with five stars. With rooms averaging over $450 per night, the accommodations at Gaia are every bit as lush as you would expect, and include 500 count linen sheets, flat screen TVs, wireless internet connectivity, and access a full range of spa services. A 350 square foot studio room can be had for as little as $260 a night off season, but a larger suite will run you nearly a $1,000 a night easily. The Gaia Hotel sits on a huge nature reserve committed to the preservation of the squirrel monkey, and Gaia’s policies and practice are all ecologically sound.

Travelers on a budget may want to check out any one of a number of great little Costa Rica hotels In nearby Quepos, many of which can be had for $100 or less per night. The Blue Banyan Inn in Quepos offers immaculate private cottages with two queen beds for between $70 and $100 per night with breakfast included. For a mere $52 per night, the Albergue Alma de Hatillo in Quepos gets you a clean room, a friendly staff, and a daily included breakfast. The Rancho Casa Grande provides a clean spacious room for $87 per night and a canopy tour of the area featuring lots of butterflies and monkeys.

Costa Rica hotels can also be romantic. If a boutique hotel is more to your liking, Issimo Suites in Manuel Antonio will exceed even the highest expectations.
